Research
The transportation and logistics industry relies heavily on operational transparency, speed, and immediate clarity. To inform our design strategy, we conducted user research and market analysis analyzing how B2B clients, cargo shippers, and commercial partners evaluate transport providers online. The research revealed that corporate logistics managers value quick access to service specifications, fleet capacity details, route coverage, and direct quote request mechanisms above all else. Many existing industry websites failed due to hidden service details, clunky contact forms, and poor mobile accessibility, which created friction for logistics coordinators managing operations on the go. Establishing strong visual trust, clear service categories, and a frictionless inquiry funnel emerged as the primary requirements for converting site visitors into long-term commercial contracts.
Challenge
The client’s previous online presence suffered from an outdated visual identity, disorganized service listings, and a lack of clear call-to-action pathways for quote requests. Presenting a diverse range of transport solutions. Such as road freight, express delivery, temperature-controlled transport, and specialized cargo handling, without overwhelming the user was a major organizational obstacle. Furthermore, the existing contact mechanism was a generic form that failed to collect essential freight variables (such as origin/destination, cargo weight, and urgency), leading to inefficient back-and-forth communication for the sales team. The challenge was to design a clean, modern visual identity, prototype an intuitive quote request flow, and build a high-performance WordPress site that the internal team could easily update and scale.
The UX/UI & Development Process
- Discovery & Information Architecture: Structured a clear sitemap separating core transport services, fleet capabilities, coverage maps, and corporate inquiries to streamline navigation for both desktop and mobile users.
- UX Research & Wireframing in Figma & Adobe XD: Created low-fidelity wireframes in Figma and Adobe XD to test page layouts, visual hierarchy, and multi-step quote request flows before visual styling.
- High-Fidelity UI Design & Prototyping: Built a modern, high-contrast design system featuring scalable typography, custom logistics iconography, and interactive UI prototypes in Adobe XD to validate layout flows with stakeholders.
- Custom WordPress & Elementor Pro Development: Engineered a responsive, custom WordPress theme using Elementor Pro, translating the prototyped designs into modular, high-performing web pages.
- Dynamic Freight Quote Integration: Developed segmented, user-friendly quote inquiry forms tailored to specific transport types, allowing prospective clients to input crucial cargo details efficiently.
- Performance Optimization & Cross-Device QA: Executed image compression, code optimization, speed tuning, and rigorous cross-browser testing to guarantee sub-second load times and flawless mobile responsiveness.
Conclusion
By blending strategic UX research in Figma and Adobe XD with custom WordPress and Elementor Pro development, this project successfully modernized the transport company’s digital presence. The new platform communicates reliability and operational scale, simplifying the freight inquiry process and serving as a high-converting sales tool for their logistics business.
